Nicholas Tamagna, American-born countertenor, is a professional opera and concert singer. Tamagna's rare countertenor voice is "expressively dynamic and extensive in range." He has had the pleasure of singing this year with Amor Artis, 46 Barrow Street Recital Series, Taghkanic Chorale Society, and the highly acclaimed Oratory Church Choir of St. Boniface in Brooklyn, New York. He is currently in the vocal studio of reknown technician and mentor Alissa Grimaldi, who helped discover his countertenor sound, and collaborates regularly with the exceptionally talented award-winning pianists William Hicks (coach) and Ilya Kazantsev. Nicholas received his Master's Degree in Music from City University of New York at Hunter College under the expert tutelage of Susan Gonzalez, who continues to be an important mentor in his performance life. His Bachelor's in Music was earned accumulatively from the prestigious Manhattan School of Music, University of North Carolina at Greensboro and Hunter College. In addition, he has had the expert advice and mentoring of James Bumgardner (technician), Marianna Christos (technician), Dennis Delaney (coach/conductor), David Jones (technician), Mark Oswald (technician), Gloria Parker (acting/interpretation), Johannes Somary (coach/conductor), Allyn Sitjar (acting), Dona D.
