About
Sundog One formed in September , 2007. The key members of the band include Tyler Collins (guitar, vocals), Chuck Lapointe (harmonica, vocals), Matthew Parsons (keyboard, vocals), Josh Budgell (bass), and Will Collins(drums, vocals). Together they bring to the stage a crowd pleasing mix of originals and covers, which has been well received everywhere they've played.
Individual Backgrounds:
Tyler Collins: A 21 year old guitar wizard that has just finished his last year of musical studies at Keyano College in Fort McMurray, AB. Tyler's been playing publicly for the last 8 years, where he regularly host's jams, and has played many fests, and theatre setting gig's as well. His latest studies in jazz guitar have added a very creative flair to his playing style. Tyler is a real crowd favorite in this area!
Chuck Lapointe: Chuck likes to add a tasteful amount of effects that allow him to crossover from blues, to rock, to funk, to reggae, and other genres as well. He's had the privilege of sharing the stage with blues greats like Tommy Castro, Phillip Walker, Tab Benoit, Lonnie Brooks, and Buckwheat Zydeco, while also getting to play with local Alberta blues artists such as Johnny V, Steve Pineo, Bill Dowey, Mike Clark, and many other's.
Matthew Parsons: Another great young talent , Matthew has shown a real mastery of the keyboards. He's been very involved in Keyano College Theatre musical production's , while dabbling in the drama side of it all as well. This young man amazes people with his tasteful and intelligent playing, every time he takes the stage!
Josh Budgell: Josh is equally at home on guitar or bass, but on bass guitar, he hold's down a groove like no one's business!! Keeping the "feel" happening while onstage is what this man does best. The band is very happy to have accidentally come across this great talent, as he was "the last piece to the puzzle" in getting this band rockin !
Will Collins: The other half of this tight rythym section features Will Collins on drums. Mr. in-the-pocket keeps it all anchored down from back in "the drivers seat". Sundog One's original songs all have a great rythym and feel to them, while incorporating lots of time changes and stops and Will's sense of timing and dynamics make it all happen!
