We are shutting down South Puget Sound Ave in Tacoma so we can have a party.
Live music starts at 7PM with Sleepy Pilot, Oddly Enough and The Missionary Position.
Last year 37 million people across the US celebrated National Night Out with block parties and there were 93 neighborhoods in Tacoma that did their thing.
There will be a Bounce House, Dunk Tank and more for the kids. Plus a BBQ with plenty of free food and refreshments.
More on the bands:
Sleepy Pilot - After leaving his previous band and being awarded the chance to do a full-length album from The John Lennon Songwriting Contest, Sean formed SleepyPilot. VanDommelen wrote, arranged, produced, recorded and engineered SleepyPilot’s debut album, but he needed a band to manifest his project.
Sean recruited Jason Bair for his creative vision of music and innovative drumming perspective, as well as his close friend Greg Magee for his bass stylings.
With this vision of Sleepypilot, the new members are bringing to life a project that was once just a thought. The album in which VanDommelen wrote is a mere starting point for the group and they are quickly expanding on the style of the album.
Oddly Enough - Led by singer-songwriter Regan Lane, Oddly Enough is a 5 piece modern pop rock band from Tacoma, Washington with covers and originals that will make ya dance and the message that it's okay to be who you are and that we all have unique talents and gifts!! This is going to be the debut performance for Oddly Enough.
The Missionary Position - The Missionary Position, blends down and dirty blues with ambient soundscapes. It is two genres which are rarely merged in rock, but, along with their introspective lyrics, the Missionary Position makes it sound so good.
"The sincere rawness of these songs is what brings the listener in and coming back for more. Taking sonically charged rockers and downshifting to pull-at-your-heart love songs make up the sequencing of Consequences and it all works perfectly together"
