At just 19 years old Joseph Picano is a musical prodigy, displaying an inherent and natural talent that defies and transcends musical sensibilities. Already a virtuoso of the acoustic guitar, Picano stands on the threshold of a promising musical career, a path that has been illuminated by the likes of Andy McKee, Don Ross and Leo Kottke. Together with these acoustic innovators and trailblazers, Picano pushes the boundaries of the once limited potential of the instrument by exploring new fingering styles, open tunings, creative use of harmonics and rhythmic tapping to take the musical genre to new heights. Possessing a musical technique that appears to fly in all directions but is securely anchored by a command and mastery that comes only with years of disciplined dedication and hard work, Picano is only beginning to test the waters of his musical potential, a seemingly limitless reservoir of creative ideas. The scary part, however, is that at only 19 he can only get better.
