"Happy Birthday Harry" a musical celebration featuring Harry Nilsson songs performed by Joel Collinsworth and John Tallman, with special guest Paul Maddison.
Joel Collinsworth is a singer songwriter from Rockford, IL who performs under the band name, “Original Mechanical Mouse.” His new CD is a tribute to Harry Nilsson featuring three Nilsson classics and nine originals styled after Nilsson. Joel has been compared to Neil Young, Bon Iver, and Fleet Foxes.
John Tallman is a twenty-five year old singer-songwriter from Rockford, IL. His style and voice are haunting and unforgetable. John is one-half of the powerpop duo “The Artificial Hearts.” He’s been compared to Rivers Cuomo, Harry Nilsson, and The Beach Boys.
In addition to the Nilsson classics, the show will feature original music in style of Harry Nilsson from Original Mechanical Mouse's new CD "In Honor of Harry Nilsson"
Paul Maddison is singer songwriter originally from Lancashire England, but he’s been living in America for sometime now. Paul writes and records his music in a converted chicken barn, secreted away somewere in the corn fields of Northern Illinois. He releases CD’s on his personal record label “Might Be GIant's Records” His music has been compared to the Beatles, Pink Floyd, or the Moody Blues. Look online for CD’s under Paul’s band name “Naked Little Monkey.”
Nilsson had several hit albums and singles and won three Grammy Awards in 1973, and another in 1969 for his single, "Everybody's Talking" which also happens to again have been used this year in "The Hangover Part Three."
