Sean Flinn and the Royal We - James Dean Kindle Sean Flinn and the Royal WeJames Dean KindleWhite Eagle Saloon | Friday, October 24, 2014 Tickets on sale now!About Sean Flinn and the Royal WeWhat people are saying about Sean Flinn:BUZZINE: "Sean Flinn & The Royal We have produced as good a debut as anyone could wish to produce. Write Me A Novel takes a broad range of subject matter and personalizes proceedings that inspires the desire to become more familiar. It's a contagious offering and it feels like an event. If you're the kind of person who likes doing favors for friends, you'll introduce this album after parties or on road trips. No one can be disappointed; this is the good gear."PORTLAND MERCURY: "His music is as honest and forthright as it comes-literate, sober tunesmithing commanded by a strong and assured voice." WILLAMETTE WEEK: "Flinn shows shades of M. Ward's eclecticism and the Shaky Hands' jangle-pop. It probably goes without saying, then, that Write Me a Novel is a very Portland-y record. That's a good thing."THE NYC SCENE BLOG: "Flinn's organic compositions hold both child-like cadence and a predilection for ever-maturing musical magic... in every note, every pluck of the string, every measured melody. His is a musical palate ingratiated not only by the wiles of the ubiquitous, rambling, road-weary minstrel, but also by more contemporary visions of first wave rock 'n' roll and R&B."PORTLAND MERCURY "A staple player in the Portland music scene, Sean Flinn has taken the reigns of his own musical stagecoach and is making the rounds in our fair city. Who travels in the carriage is dependent on the evening; Flinn steers, and he's often joined by the Royal We, a rotating cast of talented and recognizable characters, all well-versed in the body of music Flinn has created and eager to assimilate. And while Write Me a Novel, the forthcoming long-player, is often pensive and haunted by humming spirits, or shaded with dark, heavy-handed guitar riffs, there is an undeniable tenderness that runs throughout and empties into all of those who might happen upon this band's performance."..OREGON MUSIC NEWS: "As the set neared the end, fans wondered aloud if the band would be playing their hit, "Patient Heart," and, almost as soon as it was uttered, the silent requests were granted and fans swayed and sang along in excitement." - Live show reviewFacebook:http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sean-Flinn-The-Royal-We/241896579028About James Dean KindleWhile traveling in search of a new population to save, James Dean Kindle stumbled upon a band of paupers playing for the rats in an alley. Their clothes in tatters and their bellies lean, The Eastern Oregon Playboys couldn't refuse Kindle's offer: "Play as my band and I will grant you three wishes..."The Playboys are:James Dean KindleBrian BairdMatt VanSicklePeter WaltersJames Dean Kindle has been writing songs since his teenage years and cut his teeth early on in a punk band called The Sick Kids (with childhood friend Paul Collins of Beirut.) He continued his solo career in various cities throughout the Northwest, often playing with a revolving cast of backing bands. He returned to Pendleton where his long-time friends Matt, Brian and Peter backed him up for a few shows. The sound was good and soon The Eastern Oregon Playboys were formed.JD has shared showbills with many artists including Pete Krebs, The Helio Sequence, Calvin Johnson, Laura Gibson and Jason Webley. The band has played alongside many others including Point Juncture, Wa., Blitzen Trapper and a sold-out Beirut show at Portland's Crystal Ballroom. James Dean Kindle and the Eastern Oregon Playboys have enjoyed tremendous responses from audiences of all ages while playing venues from dive-bars, coffee shops and house parties to rodeo arenas, water parks and medium-security prisons (No joke!).website:http://www.jamesdeankindle.com/Map & Directions
