Bio
Born (1952), Oakland CA. I took my first piano lessons in 3rd grade. I studied for 3 years and started jazz theory in 7th. By 8th grade I started playing music with friends. I got my first rig in 10th and joined a top-40 band in 11th and played the UC Berkeley Frat house circuit.
At 21, I moved to Dallas TX. I joined “Shotgun” a local rock band where I got my first studio recording experience. In the mid 90’s I joined Mick Martin and the Blues Rockers. I appear on 3 recordings, “Good Time”, “Blues Plate Special” and “Got to Play the Blues”. I’m currently writing and recording in my home studio. I’d be interested in collaborating or helping in a rock or blues project.
About

I had some great times with Mick and the boys...
But it's been over a decade since my last show with them and those days are long gone. But the band is still kickin' ass and can be found playing somewhere usually every weekend. Here's a link to their website that you can check for performance dates: (copy and paste the link to your browser address window)

Now about "Blessing in Disgust": I had this bass line in my head for like 2 weeks so I laid it down in my studio using my keyboard and a Korg Triton rack. I did that and the drums too. I put some keys on it and kicked it over to San Francisco to my cousin Steve for the brillient guitar work. You should check out his stuff- it's all great! He has 2 self produced full length CD's with some great work. He plays real drums and bass too that fills the sound out to the edge! Heres the link to Steve's Myspace:

About "Shakey Puddin"
This is the song the got my cousin and I hooked up. It's way cool. He did the score and first arrangement. How it worked out, is Steve lives in San Francisco and I don't get to see him that much, but I've known for at least a couple decades that he's a musician. Ok, so I finally get to go by his house where he's been doing some solo recording, laying down funky bass, tight kick ass drums and ultra fine 6 string flame thrower guitar riffs. So he plays me "Shakey Puddin," with an "e" no less. So I really like the sound and I ask, "How about you send it to me and I lay down some Hammond on it?" He says: "I was hoping you would ask." So here is is, "Shakey Puddin'" with Hammond, score and first arrangement by Steve Soufi, final arrangement by me. Steve does some brilliant guitar work, drums and bass on this one. I hope you enjoy listening half as much as I enjoyed working on it.
About "Get it Down" : Musician friends form Highschool days gettin' together for a once a year reunion. We all love to play, and not a better place to have it happen than in Carl's beautiful state of the art Pro Tools studio, complete with Steinway 7 foot grand, Hammond C3 and secluded drum booth. I apologize for the lack of video quality, but not bad sound for just one mic going to the camera!
