Q: What is your biggest source of inspiration?~Cheers from QC<Canada
A: Hi Sarah, thanks for your interesting question. I get my inspiration from a number of sources. Some of my original piano compositions have evolved from my association with the Cascade Drama Club based in Farnham, Surrey (UK) where I have been commissioned to produce music for the childrens theatre group over a very long period of time (over 30 years). Some tracks have been used as the theme music for a play / drama activity, at the change of a scene, or as the background mood / atmosphere to a particular scene of live action on the stage. I also get some of the inspiration from places I visit and from people that I meet. Some of the music just floats into my head at just the right moment. I also feel that my creative gifts and talents are a gift from God ... the greatest creator of all time. I am largely a self taught musician (over many years) who has developed their art through listening to other great musicians, artists and composers. I love all types and styles of music but hope to one day establish my own unique sound for the World to enjoy. I dream of one day hearing my music played by a full orchestra ... some have already suggested ... that day is not far away! The main influences regarding my musical development have been through such heroes as the great keyboard players ... Rick Wakeman, Richard Clayderman, Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield and Ludovico Einaudi. I also love the work created by top composers like John Williams, John Barry, Henry Mancini and Burt Bacharach. I love hearing music that has been well written by a true Master. Thank you for liking my music, I am working on my debut album at the moment and hope to publish it later on in 2013. God Bless you! My very best wishes to you from England. Rob.
