Bio
Red Thursday have been playing together since 2000.
We are a three piece band, all in our mid forties ,with a keen interest in ,blues, heavy rock and punk. We have all been in variouse working bands ,all individually, ranging in styles from Punk/New Wave, Blues Rock and Heavy Metal.We all have a vast wealth of gigging experience and feel that it is time we just do what we do for us. If someone else likes what we do,that is great,if they don't ,they don't have to listen to us.
About
Red Thursday is a three piece Rock band from Syston, Leicestershire. It comprises of, Tim Colman- vocals and bass, Alex Sault- guitars and keyboards and Kev Barker- Drums, percussion and sound engineering. All of the music is written by Tim and Alex, Tim being the main lyric writer and Alex composing the music. Most of the musical arrangement is done by all three and many pints of beer.
We all met at a Wood Carving nightclass ran by Alex, who promptly added into a class demonstration ,one night, "does anybody here play guitar?" A bit like Rock school ! Many pints were drunk, story after story told and tales of past rock achievments bragged about,more pints consumed and then the plan of battle layed. The would be legend that is Red Thursday was formed.
Our main aim is to write the music we like. The whole outfit is an escape for us, a way of venting our loves and hates,and more importantly, just enjoying being a band of musicians and loving it.
If in the process someone else gets enjoyment out of what we do, that is even better.
