“The debut album from Rotherham man, Phil Sinclair starts off with the mellow Road To Nowhere, a slow meandering ballad with strong folk and lyric links. Call You Mine is a slightly quicker pace tune, and has recently been played on BBC Radio Sheffields’ ‘Introducing’ show. It’s a beautiful song of love and relationships. Through My Green Eyes starts off with samples of a siren and pouring rain. The song is quite dark, and very slow paced. The album continues in much the same way, with slow paced acoustic songs of matters of the heart and mind. Stand outs are Cracks Are Starting to Show – played with deeper, warmer tones, with slightly more pace and a relatively uplifting harmonica middle eight. This album is the perfect chill out album, to have on in the background, or if a song popped up on shuffle. It’s relaxed and smooth, and the perfect folk album. Sally Altass”
