Album notes on HOME

The album HOME is mostly about being away from home - dreaming and yearning of that familiar comfort. This homebrewed collection of songs mixes acoustic and electric guitars, a variety of percussive instruments - and other various instruments - into a bluesy/Americana journal. Several of the songs talk about traveling down various roads, while the song,Townes, Jesus, and Me (at the Gold Rush) is set in Nashville on Christmas Eve at the bar the Gold Rush where a lit photo of Townes Van Zandt looks down from the wall behind the bar. Flood is a blues song about the 93' flood along the Mississippi River in the town of Alton, IL. (where my family called home for a few years when growing up), and X-Mas Morn is a song inspired by the documentary, Prison Through Tomorrow's Eyes - about the the California prison system - and set out in the desolation of the California desert. This album was recorded in various bedrooms from Nashville to Southern California and finished after many miles had been traveled. See you down the road.

the Summer Tour and West Coast Shows

This weekend, after being away for most of the summer, I'll be heading back to Southern California and playing a few shows. This summer tour has taken me all through out Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Texas, and into Washington state - playing shows all along the way, eating some good food, seeing lots of family and friends, traveling on some old and new roads, and putting another several thousand miles on my car. And for most of the trip, I've been giving thanks to whoever invented air-conditioning. This Sunday (8/29), I'll be up in the Central Valley in Paso Robles at the Pour House from 6:00pm to 8:00pm The next day, Monday (8/30), I'll be back at the Cinema Bar in Culver City with the Burlington Family starting things off at around 9:30pm. Yours truly will start around 11pm. both shows are free - although tips are greatly appreciated - and I will have CD's for sale On Friday, (9/3) Jeremiah and the Red Eyes will be at The Echo opening up for Southern Culture On The Skids and Lynda Kay. This is going to be a cool show so come on out if you can. doors at 8:30 tickets $12 in advance and $14 the day of the show hope to see y'all soon, yours truly, Jeremiah

Summer Tour - and beyond

I know it's been a while since I've sent out something, but I thought it would be a good time to announce my summer tour - just days after the official start of summer - and what's lined up so far. In May I was able to hit the road for a few weeks in support of my new CD, Under Your Spell, and had a good time with that - my partner, Lauren Austin from Nashville, joined me for two thirds of the trip and we made our way across the midwest - with stormy weather sometimes following our path. After a few shows in Texas we ended in Sedona, AZ which was beautiful.

So here's the list

June 24 The Hyperion Tavern - LA June 28th The Cinema Bar - Culver City July 5th The Sail Inn - Phoenix/Tempe, AZ July 8th Sammy C's - Gallup, NM July 9th KJ's Coffee Bar - Denver, CO July 28th Grant and Green - San Francisco, CA August 2nd The Rogue Bar - Phoenix/Scottsdale, AZ August 5th Flagstaff Brewing Company - Flagstaff, AZ August 6th The Red Room at The Grill - Tucson, AZ August 13th Uncorked - Austin, TX August 15th Momo's Club - Austin, TX August 17th Bottecelli's - Austin, TX August 29th The Pour House - Paso Robles, CA August 30th The Cinema Bar - LA

There's more in the works too - more Colorado. In September I'll heading back towards the midwest and to Nashville and later, farther east. In October I hope to be in Europe. Those are the plans for now.

I do have a new CD for sale - which I will have at the shows and will eventually be available on Itunes and other places where you can download music - it's called Under Your Spell - so if you want one, let me know and I'll get you one.

thanks, yours truly, Jeremiah

Around the Corner...

In just about a week I'll be packing up my car and once again hitting the road for another trip. This time I'll be heading to the great city of Austin Texas for some South By Southwest fun. I'm happy to say that I was able to get three shows during my time there and I'm really looking forward to the trip and to being in Austin again and seeing some great music.

I'm really hoping that the winter cold that seems to have really hit the South this season will have moved on by that point. Last year when we drove in from Nashville I was so glad to feel the warmer Texas air - and also eat some good Mexican food which I was really craving at that point. This year I'll be driving in from California where the winter hasn't been that bad at all. Of course there's been some rain, but nothing like the rain that comes down in the South and the Midwest.

Being back in California has been good and I've kept myself busy since I've returned to town. In February I did a Monday night residency at The Cinema Bar in Culver City - which I can definitely now call my home stage. Rod, the owner has been really supportive - as have the rest of the staff - Jackie, Michelle, Nila, and Lisa. My CD release show for Under Your Spell will be there - I'm thinking late May - after I get back from my tour of the Midwest and the South.

In addition to booking shows and making travel plans I've started doing a webcast show - although I've only really been testing it out lately, so I haven't announced anything until now. I'm thinking about continuing the Monday night idea and doing a 8pm PST show - starting tentatively on March 29th. The show is called From This Corner and can be found on Ustream.com - we'll see how it goes.

For now I'm really looking forward to Austin - meeting up with some old friends and meeting some new ones - playing my shows - going to Cooper's BBQ and traveling from here to there and back again.
