i just wanted to say thank you to everyone who came to see me play this summer. over the course of about 4 months, i played something like 30 shows, and some of them were the some of the best days of my life, even when there were only a handful of people there. i'm so excited about this record, and i cannot wait to share it with you. also, the response that ive been getting from the NEW material is amazing as well. thanks for being a part of it, from omaha to virginia beach to maine to vermont to philly to boston to new york city to ithaca and everywhere in between, it has been a pleasure. much love.
Jesse here. Sorry it has taken me so long to write this, I've had quite a crazy couple of weeks I got home from Atlanta last night, where I spent the past week working with Clay Cook, one of the best session musicians/producers in Georgia. His resume is ridiculous, having co-written many of the songs on John Mayer's first record (including "No Such Thing"), and playing with everyone from Shawn Mullins to The Marshall Tucker Band to Train. He was incredibly helpful and supportive, and I can't imagine how these songs would have ended up without him.
Recording an album is something that I have wanted to do since I started making music when I was a kid. This record is literally 15 years in the making. It was an exciting, terrifying, wonderful experience, and I just want you to know that I literally could not have done it without you. Every cent that was raised for my birthday went directly towards recording costs.
I apologize if I haven't personally thanked you yet, I'm trying to get to everybody. But I literally cannot express how thankful I am for your contributions, I am totally overwhelmed by the response and support I received from all of you. I look forward to writing songs and making records for a very long time, and I am very proud of this one, my first, which is called Aiming for Honesty, and I'm extremely grateful that you were all a part of it.
Thanks again, a million times thank you.
