Thanks everybody who has liked our page here on Reverb or on Facebook. We really do appreciate that a number of you out there appreciate what we are doing and it has been a very eventful year for us. Recording our very first album was a great experience, and we have an EP planned for next year that we are very excited to work on. Happy Holidays fans, and here's to a great 2014!
We chose the name "Melting Pot" for our debut album because there is no definitive genre to this collection of songs. We wanted to create an album with many different styles and flavors of music within it and if you listen closely you will find elements of blues, ska, funk, classical, classic rock, surf rock, and many more sonic textures. We take a lot of influence from the great bands that have come before us, and strive to incorporate many different styles, creating a truly unique listening experience. Thank you for checking out our tunes!
Thanks everybody who came out to Red Sky on April 13th and supported our album release. We are only scratching the surface with our musical capabilities and are very happy with how our first album endeavor turned out. Our next gig is in Minneapolis on Saturday, April 20 at the Driftwood Char Bar and we hope to see another great crowd out there for us. Thank you all so much for being interested in what we have created and know that this is only the beginning.
Hey everybody, we are happy to announce that we have officially booked our first gig of 2013! We will be playing Savoy's bar and grill on Jan. 12th. We're taking it back to the first bar we ever played downtown Mankato, so it should be another memorable night. Plus we have as long as we want to play, so that should be cool. Showtime is around 10pm, we hope to see ya there! Thanks everyone who showed up to the rather interesting New Years Eve event, we had a very good time playing it.Our album is coming along nicely, and we are looking to release it within the next couple of months.
Progress is going swimmingly on our first album. We've been in the studio for about a month now and we already have tracking down for all of the songs. We need to add vocals and a few finishing touches, but the thing is sounding pretty awesome so far. Big thanks from all of us to Dave "Ocho" O'Connell for helping us out with the technical stuff. None of this would be possible without his guidance. We will keep you guys posted as the album nears completion.
Thanks for everyone who made it out to the What's Up Lounge set last Wednesday. It was a great time and we had a blast playing on the same bill as The Bitterroot Band and Goodnight Gold Dust. Our set is now immortalized and available for download so get your hands on some awesome live music!
How's it going people? Thanks for visiting our new reverbnation site, I heard this site was awesome so I decided to make a page for Boardwalk on here. I am not disappointed, this site indeed the kitty's titties for managing our band. So what's going on for November? Boardwalk Arcade is going to start work on our first album, courtesy of our good friend and fellow artist Ocho, and we also have a show with The Bitterroot Band and good night gold dust on the 14th that we are FRICKING STOKED about. It's shaping up to be a pretty exciting month, so we hope to see you all at the show! In the meantime, there are a couple live tracks of The Love and How Perfect recorded live at Red Sky to tide you over until then. Adios amigos, Filthy Rich
