Thanks for listening, sharing, and spreading the word about Hobo Graffiti.

And so it begins...

In the Fall of 2011 we started this strange idea of learning a bunch of obscure covers [unrelated to our forte hard rock/metal] and changing formats. We're talking about stripped down, acoustic guitars, upright bass and percussion jamming in Chuck's living room (raw; "in our panties" as Kris puts it). Kris showed us some tunes he was working on, which included Johnny Cash, CCR, Misfits, Stray Cats, Social Distortion, ZZ Top, Sex Pistols, Bob Dylan, T-Rex, Lynyrd Skynyrd etc. We started kicking around the idea of adding our friend and musical companion Heather Jones to help breathe new life into this project. Great idea! We took a chance and sought out a venue for Wednesday nights and surprisingly landed a weekly gig at Wise Guys Comedy Club downtown Syracuse. Much thanks to co-owner David Wheeler & staff (Stein, Becky and John) for their support and belief in our potential. They took a chance on us and allowed us to hone our chops and straighten out this uneasy, uncomfortable new endeavor. Thanks to that spree of confidence building, we've been getting steady work performing 3 - 4 hour shows! Now we host a bi-weekly Open Mic Night at Mac's Bad Art Bar in Mattydale, NY thanks to manager Alyssa Ziegler and owner Pat MacMurray! (We also owe Pat for his friendship and support when Kris took over as front man for Brand New Sin back in early 2009 providing us a stage of live rehearsal for the Home Town Zeros on Monday nights). Eventually we wrote some music (streaming here on http://reverbnation/hobograffiti ). We teamed up with Subcat Studios' newest engineer Patrick MacDougall who has worked with Mick Jagger, Joe Walsh, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Yes and many more. Thanks to Pat we are capturing this brand new vibe that sounds organic, real and unprocessed. We couldn't be happier. Now we are legitimately an original band! Therefore.....this week the new journey has begun. We were on the radio Sunday with Dave Frisina who hosts one of the longest lasting local radio shows in the nation "Soundcheck" 105.9 FM the Rebel, this morning we received a great review from former Post Standard entertainment editor Mark Bialczak, we host open mic tonight, tomorrow we'll perform on the main stage at the largest regional festival Taste Of Syracuse, then afterwards we will perform all night long at Mac's Bad Art Bar. Here we go...... (be on the lookout for our debut EP this Summer) -Kevin
