Last night walking into THE ALAMO to set up the stage and load in equipment, you could almost feel the energy of the building. The only people in there were members of each band everyone looked at each other with excitement and buzz. First thing i said to Dave was "Tonight... Tonight this place is a magnet. You can feel that this show is going to be huge". thats all i can relate back from the experience. Last night was great! Best crowd in the world! Thanks to everyone that came out and made the night extremely special. You guys were on FIRE! Thanks to THE ALAMO for having us, hands down best venue in Santa Fe. Thanks to Grannia Griffith Story, Liv Lombardi and Treemotel for also being apart of a night we will never forget.
After the first round of the Battle of the Bands, at Launchpad, all i could think about was what it was like to before the show. This memory is something i needed to write about. We arrived in Alb at 2:30 and waited to see what time we were going to be playing at. I remember feeling a fake smile on my face while my head hurting with minus thoughts on our efforts for selling and promoting, or it could have been that we were running late and i must have broke at least 5 laws just to get us there on time... either way my head hurt. Meanwhile my new friend Sienna (photographer for the show) and i were talking and joking about the ride up from Santa fe could have gone bad fast. In the middle of us joking i started to look around because it began to sprinkle rain drops. Then i saw the faces of all the people in all the bands around me. Each person had his own look. Some tall, some short. One thing was for sure I felt like the oldest one there (I'm 21) haha. At first look it looked like everyone was anxious to see what time everyone played at, so i went back to my conversation with Sienna and tried to relax a bit. But after a second i noticed it the look was something else. It was i noticed that everyone was looking at each in a way that you could feel the vibes around that area. (here is the part of the memory i've be obsessing about) i remember thinking to my self that all these bands had some kind of tricks up their sleeves. Like i good magician i wanted to see the tricks and figure them out and show an even better trick and see if they could figure my trick out. Then the door opened and our sound guys says if you are not 21 years old you have to enter thought the back. i then see everyone but myself and a few old guys begin their journey to the back of the Launchpad. i then laughed and said to my new-new friend Scott "Either we are too old to be here or we are great magicians." -Jared
