Four Leaf Rovers / Blog

Still recovering.

We are still recovering from our whirlwind of 6 shows in 3 days over the Paddy's Day Weekend. Hope you all had as much fun as we did.

Reverb what?

Kinda forgot this here site had one of those blog thingies. Hmm. How about a toast? Here's to our wives and girlfriends...may they never meet! Thank you and goodnight.

Sept 3rd Show

So if you've been keeping up with the news you know about our newest member, Chris Meers. On a sidenote...Chris is also in the Bogside Zukes who are playing at Peoria Erin Feis this weekend...so go check em out. Back to 4LR news...just a disclaimer so no one can be mad at me. The Peoria ART SHOW does NOT sell alcohol. Guess that means everyone is going to have to tie one on before the show...so come prepared to have fun but please dont get out of hand.

Yesterdays practice was awesum! Jenna did a great job getting her parts together for the originals and Chris is fitting in perfectly. Practice again Sunday and going to start looking at playing out again soon so stay tuned. ~Scott

Wednesday 8/3/2011

Woke up early this morning to get my girlfriend off to work then went home and started writing whistle parts for a new song Im working on. Should be done with the main structure within the week and have a good idea about the lyrics too. Super exited about practice tomorrow. Its the first time that Jenna and Chris will have met and Im gonna make them play music together weather they like it or not. LOL!!! Chris has been working on the originals as well as some of the old covers...Drunken Lullabies, Good Morning Da!, Sayonara, etc...and they sound good already so I cant wait to hear them with violin! Maybe if the tunes are sounding good enough I will record a few and post them here soon...so keep an ear out for new material. Thanks for reading this...and stay tuned.

Practice Time

Every band I have ever been in struggles to find the time to practice. This band is no different. Has there ever been a band in the history of music where everyone shows up on time, tuned up, and ready to play...no. Why then do I feel the need to blog about practice? Because I feel dissapointed in the fact that we could be a better, tighter band, if we would all make some sacrifices and get at least one practice a week. To me there's no better time than drinking and playing music with your friends...I dont know why it has to be so hard to make it happen tho.
