Hello sweet friends! As many of you know and have experienced, many parts of Colorado have been devastated by flooding. Many members of Monocle Band have been displaced because of it, and our beloved producer's studio, The Distillery Studios, was pummeled by the river for days and the Tillers have lost their house and most of their material possessions. So many musicians, families, friends, and many people we don't know have been personally and directly affected by the flood. Out of the sadness, frustration and stress, people are banding together and the communities around the Front Range have only grown stronger through the tragedy of the floods. One way that the Boulder community is giving back is the Wake of the Flood Benefit Concert that is happening TODAY. This is an incredible opportunity to raise spirits and money for those effected. Josh Elioseff and friends have been working hard to get this (and future benefit shows!) together.
Wake of the Flood Fund is committed to those effected by the recent flood here in Boulder and the surrounding areas. 100% of the monies raised will go directly to individuals/families who need assistance.
We are holding our first benefit concert at The Fox Theatre on Saturday, September 28th at 8pm (Doors). There will be musicians from all over the front range area playing that night. So far we have members of DeadPhish Orchestra, Hot Soup, Mountain Standard Time, Jet Edison, The Zimmermans, the Motet, Leftover Salmon, and MANY MANY MORE to be announced. Also featuring a very special set by Colorado musician and Lyons resident Danny Shafer and the 21st Century - and a killer set from the acoustic side, Pickin on the Dead, with some surprise guest pickers!
Pre-sale Tickets are $15 and can be bought at http://foxtheatre.frontgatetickets.com/choose.php?a=1&lid=86188&eid=96841 Get them now before they are gone!
$20 Day of show
We are looking for auction items as well, so if you have something you can donate we would love to auction it to raise as much money for the victims. To donate, contact Josh Elioseff in a private message or through email at email@example.com.
We are so lucky to be part of such a great community!
Members of Monocle Band will be sitting in throughout the night so keep a look out for us!
Also, here's a link to help out the Tillers rebuild their lives! Dave Tiller produced, recorded and mixed our first album (which is yet to be released!) and we just love this family to pieces. Any amount will help! http://www.gofundme.com/4ckk64
Thank you for your support and love!!!!!
As many of you know, our debut CD is done, in the can, ready for release...and, if we may say so ourselves, it's awesome! Seriously though, we're extremely proud of this music and can't wait to share it with you all.
If you were one of our amazing Kickstarter backers, you've already got this music in your hands. For the rest of the world, the album will be available online and in select record stores on Tuesday, October 15!
Suffice to say we are pumped, so pumped, in fact, that we couldn't wait any longer to share a few tracks with you. You can stream our songs "As Fast As I Can," "Falling," and "Far Away" on monocleband.com. Also, if you too can't wait for this music, you can pre-order a copy of the record at themonocleband.bandcamp.com. You'll get three songs right away and the rest of the album on release day, 10/15/13.
We've also got a great Colorado CD release tour in the works... Stay tuned!
Hey reverberating friends! Monocle is so excited to say goodbye to a great year of gigging, learning, connecting, writing, playing, recording, and, well, monocleing, and say HELLO to a year of album making, touring, and competing! We are PROUD PROUD PROUD to announce that we successfully reached (and exceeded!) our goal of $10,000 through kickstarter! We could not have done it without our awesome friends, fans, and family who helped us out! We are just over half way through recording our album and could not be more excited to release it come spring time!
In other Monocle news, we will be packing our bags and heading to the great town of Telluride to compete in the Telluride Bluegrass Band competition at the 40th annual Telluride Bluegrass Festival!!
In the meantime, we're booking gigs, writing new songs, putting together a album release tour, and lovin' every minute! Stay tuned for new shows, songs and merch!
Time to Kickstart! Fans, friends, family! After a long weekend of giving thanks, we're here to say thank you to you for all you do in supporting our music and creative expression. We've just launched our Kickstarter campaign to raise funds for our debut CD and couldn't be more excited. We humbly ask your continued support as we embark on this inspiring project. Check it out! Thank you thank you!
