More About Twisted Nixon

Twisted Nixon

Twisted Nixon was formed in the spring of 1996 by Johnny Punish, Ben Madrid, Gary Richter, and Mike Henry - the band quickly evolved into a new line-up including Richy Abboud on drums, Jake Skoor Wickstrom on bass guitar. With periodic guest star appearances by the Brookyn NYC Singer Songwriter Brian Jay Cline Twisted Nixon was off to immortality.

The band was named by Ben Madrid and Johnny Punish. Ben liked the word Twisted because he believed we would be a twisted punk band. Johnny added the Nixon part because what better metaphor for twisty then Richard Millhouse Nixon. That guy was punk" says Johnny.

The band came in fast, rocked hard, and produced hits like Left is Right and Stone Throwing Riot

Twisted Nixon played raucous shows to thousands of fans with diverse bands e.g. The Skeletones, The Untouchables, and countless others at all kinds of venues like the infamous Whiskey a -Go-Go in Hollywood California, The Hard Rock Cafe, and other famous and not so famous places. However, with a bit of encouragment from their friends at the lovely offices of The Clampdown, the boys have decided to call it a day and let it be. Thanks Timmy! Good Job Jerkoff!

In 2001, the boys played their last tour and bid farewell. "We came, we said, we rocked" said Johnny Punish. Will Twisted Nixon return to re-unite and save the world from itself? Well, probably not. "But rest assured" says X Factor, a fan in the pit "We loved you while you were here".

Reports from early 2009 say that Brian Jay Cline is flying solo recording awesome music from his Florida headquarters, Jake Skoor Wickstrom and Richy Abboud play in the heavy metal rock band Take Out based out of Riverside California,Johnny Punish is playing guitar in front of a computer somewhere on a South American dirt road with chickens experimenting, creating, and still looking for freedom in an un-free world and Gary Richter, now known as Knife Pliskin plays in the killer punk Duct Tape Hostage. Ben Madrid is jamming up a punk rock storm at home in Murrieta California while Mike Henry is playing in Beatnik Party, a band in Boise Idaho.
