Bio

My Radio is sneaking through the music industry's back door by writing strong melodic rock tunes for film and TV. In other words, we want exposure and we want to get paid. This summer we signed up with placement gurus Ocean Park Music Group who are the #1 placement company for independent music. Cleveland Cavaliers fans should look out for the single "Yeah, Yeah, Yeah" as it will air during Fox Sports halftime highlights for the upcoming NBA season.
In addition, My Radio will be featured as Ourstage's "Artist Of The Week" for Fall 2009.

About

My Radio is a melodic rock accident that happened in southwest Virginia when JP Powell (Chauncey, Bleu and My Favorite Relative) left Boston for Roanoke. It all started when the singer/songwriter, who’s screaming abilities have been lauded by the likes of Peter Wolf (J. Geils Band) and Peter Garrett (Midnight Oil) and who’s songwriting has been praised by the Boston Globe, Boston Herald and the Boston Phoenix, ran into drummer Hunter Johnson (Down Dexter and Justin Jones). The 1st conversation went something like this: “You play drums? Really? Cool. You hit hard? Cool. ” The second conversation went something like this: “Does this song have a strong chorus? Awesome. Ditch the solo and write a better bridge.” My Radio quickly added guitarist Brett Lemon and bassist Jeff Hofmann to round out the group that has been playing small theaters (Dumas and Jefferson), venues (Iota, Local 506 and Kirk Ave Music Hall) and festivals (Floyd Fest 2008/2009) throughout Virginia, North Carolina, DC and South Carolina. They are currently preparing for a 2009 release of their debut full-length record, which was produced and recorded by Micah Wilshire, Ted Comerford, John Plymale and Mitch Easter.
