Q: What is the story behind the bands name?
A: Moss Agate is a very unique type of agate. Seers have used if for centuries to read the "stories" within the stone. Some consider moss agate to be the "Goddess of music and poetry". Pictures of slabs of the stone are usually given titles or names pertaining to images within the rock. (we use a picture of moss agate for every album cover) There are a wide variety of types of Moss Agate. We play a wide variety of music, our songs tell stories, and are given names corresponding to the songs. It felt like the similarities between us and the rock just made sense, plus, the fact that it IS rock, and so are we. That.....and we just wanted to be different!
