Bio
Mike Petrone has been a fixture in the Cleveland music scene for more than twenty-five years. He maintains a regular schedule at Johnny's Downtown, Cleveland's top restaurant, where he has been the featured performer for 16 years.
He has composed several motion picture soundtracks and musical scores and has a catalog of 17 album titles. His jazz piano trio has been the main vehicle for his recordings and has achieved a great deal of respect the world over.
You mostly need to travel to Cleveland to see him, but the trio still gets out of town occasionally.
About
Pianist Mike Petrone has had a jazz trio since 1983. The group began recording in 1994 and their CD's have achieved great popularity with jazz fans across the globe, particularly in Japan where several titles have been re-issued recently. In recent years Petrone has added vocals to the performances and has begun recording his original songs. "Mediterranean Jazz" is the first recording of the trio featuring those new songs. Most popular previous titles, "A Lot Like Us" (1996), and "Blue" (2007).
