Bio

Marko has always had a deep love for music. His parents always had instruments around the house and when Marko got to middle school he started playing in bands. After high school Marko spent several years as a dj on the west coast and Europe. After living 6 months in New Zealand, Marko got back to his roots and started writing and recording reggae again. He works heavily with RuffKuts Clothing and Great Shape Inc and just finished his new album "All the Love that I've Found." The album exudes early 80's Jamaican swag with a half-baked west coast twist. He still finds time to tour and write new music. Stay tuned for more from West Coast Rub a Dub artist Marko

About

Marko is an up and coming reggae singer form Ashland, OR,  who plays a genre he describes as “west-coast rub a dub” and dancehall.

-Mystic Lion

“Check this youth out of Oregon, Marko, who delivers 70's style roots Reggae with a fresh take, clear lyrics and a beautiful voice. Whether chanting DJ style or singing melodies his vocals ring true and sincere.”
-Mystic Lion

West coast rub a dub reggae artist, Marko released his debut album  "All the Love that I've Found" on August 8th at the North West World  Music Festival 2009.  The album flows like Yellowman and Brigadier Jerry stoppin by for a session with Sublime at a smokey backyard jam. "All the Love that I've Found" is the perfect soundtrack for a hot summer; 1980's Jamaican swag with a half baked, west coast twist.

Over a year in the making, the album contains 13 original tracks recorded with live musicians at Reggae Universal Studios outside of Eugene, OR.  The musicians on the album have also been playing live shows with Marko for the past year along the west coast and Hawaii.   All the adventures with these great friends and musicians  lead to the album title, "All the Love that I've Found."  The album is a testament to Marko's love of reggae music and the community that keeps it alive.   It is everything the title suggests.

The songs on All the Love that I've Found resonate with good vibes and love, as well as remind us of the charm and color that surround everyday events.  Marko's songs are sincere and his style is true.  His music effortlessly reflects the decades of Jamaican music he has immersed himself in, while candidly showing he's just another white kid, drinkin, smokin, straight west-coastin.  All the Love... accurately portrays Marko's day to day life, where making music, praising Jah, giving thanks, coolin' with my baby, vaporizing, and half-price pizza all meld into each other.

All the Love that I've Found features some of reggae's and the NW's top players.  Marcelo Nassar on bass, Mauricio Nassar on drums and Fernando Bispo on keys (collectively known as the Brazilion Lions);  Scotty One Drop on drums (The Escort Service, Chezidek, Sashamon); Ras Puddu on guitar (Mighty Diamonds, Winston Jerret and more); Zane Fischer

on guitar (Rootdown); Joe Ginet on guitar and Ryan Redding on ukulele (The State of Jefferson); James Green on sax (T Club, Reeble Jar), and others.

The release will be followed by shows along the West Coast, Pacific Islands, Jamaica, and beyond.
