Bio
After witnessing the raw energy of their first performances, and hearing the soulful Hip-Hop sounds of their first recordings, underground Hip-Hop fans demanded more from Self Suffice (the Rapoet) and Mez (Mezmerizer). It was inevitable that these Manhattanites would take their collaborations to the next level and record an album...
About
| Uniting perspectives from Manhattan's Lower East Side (Self Suffice) and Upper West Side (M-E-Z) neighborhoods, the "Manhattan Night" project came about when the Rapoet spent a day at Mez' crib writing to beats by Young Cee , while hanging out with close friends including Zaquan (who brought over a computer to assist in the impromptu recording session). What resulted was a dozen new recordings, 8 of which became "Manhattan Night", the first collection from the Manhattanites (Mez & Self Suffice). Although over 500 Hip-Hop fans have requested copies of the demo (already labeling it a "classic"), the Manhattanites are currently looking for quality, sample-cleared instrumentals, in order to remix the project and release it as an official album. |
