Mike Doernberg CEO and Co-Founder

Mike's successful entrepreneurial career in the Research Triangle area of North Carolina stems from his experience in marketing and management of technology and Internet business and his BA in accounting from North Carolina State University. Past ventures include SmartPath, a marketing software company, and Marathon Partners, an Internet services organization. All told, Mike has led three successful venture-backed startups in the software technology space.

Jed Carlson President and Co-Founder

Originally from Minneapolis, Jed is a serial entrepreneur who moved to the Triangle to earn his MBA from Duke University with a focus on technology and marketing. Past ventures include The Carlson Print Group, a commercial printing and packaging company, and SmartPrint, a division of AmericDisc Inc. Jed enjoys making people laugh, and long walks on the beach.

Robert Hubbard CTO and Co-Founder

Robert thrives on the challenge and culture of the software startup scene. After receiving his MS in Computer Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, he worked in many successful startups, including Burl Software as a Software Engineer, Marathon Innovations as a Senior Software Engineer, SmartPath as Director of Development, and DoubleClick as Director of Development.

Steve Jernigan CIO and Co-Founder

After a trip through firms large and small,domestic and international, and in various high-tech sectors; Steve has found his home managing the complexity that comes with a high traffic site. While not deciphering the matrix, he enjoys reading about application performance management and worrying about disasters that will probably not come to pass. He holds a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.

Chris Smith CFO

Chris has extensive experience as a financial and operating executive for growth companies, including a stint as Vice President with Jefferies & Co. (Broadview) and Venture Manager at the Epperson Group, a technology incubator. Chris received his MBA from Stanford University and has experience in investment banking, private equity, and building a startup business within a large corporation.

Lou Plaia EVP of Music and Co-Founder

Lou's success in the music business stems from his 15 years at Atlantic Records and Lava Records, where he last served as Head of Marketing and Artist Development. Lou has worked with and/or developed artists such as Jewel, Kid Rock, Matchbox 20, George Carlin, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, O.A.R., Simple Plan and many others. He was also responsible for negotiating partnerships with Nascar, Schick and Disney. Lou received his MBA from Dowling College.

Simon Perry SVP, Creative, Head of A&R

Simon is a hit writer/producer from Oxford, England. He has worked with many name artists, including Echo & The Bunnymen, Westlife, Sandi Thom, and Anthony Costa. He also wrote and co-produced the multi-million selling album Me for the Chinese Idol winner, Chris Lee. Simon co-founded and served as President of Archangel Media, a Film & TV venture in LA. He holds a BA in English with Classics from the University of Sussex.

Kurt Merriweather SVP and GM, Industry Services

Kurt is a seasoned business development and business operations professional, with his MBA from Stanford University and more than 15 years of experience in profit and loss management, business analysis, strategic planning, market research and partner management. He was previously Director, Strategy and Emerging Business Development at Discovery Communications.
