Bio

“Tragic City Symphony” marks the return of Birmingham, AL hard rockers Lynam! The new CD contains twelve new tracks fueled by rebellion, lust, loss, and life. “We really wanted to make a classic album this time around” explains guitarist / vocalist Jacob Lynam. “We grew up on everything from Guns N Roses to Nirvana to Green Day. We wanted to make an album where every song is great and has something to say like “Nevermind” and “Appetite For Destruction”. The last Green Day record blew my mind because every song on the record was an anthem.” With “Tragic City Symphony” Lynam has crafted an album that is both dangerous and beautiful while delivering the edge that has been missing in Rock ‘N’ Roll for sometime.

Lynam worked again with producer Jason Elgin (Collective Soul, Maylene And The Sons Of Disaster) on the effort. “We have always thought of Jason as the fourth member of Lynam” states Jacob Lynam. “He always brings out the best in us and shares our vision of what the Lynam sound is.” The new record also features special guest including, the band “Hinder” and Tom Keifer from Cinderella. “We toured with “Hinder” on their last tour and we became great friends” explains drummer David Lynam. “We asked them to come and do some gang vocals on our new record and they came down and delivered. The new record sounds huge!” “Cinderella was always a big influence to us” adds bassist Mark Lynam. So, it was an honor to have Tom Keifer play slide guitar on the song “Enemy”. The CD was mixed by Jason Elgin, Mike Shipley (Green Day, Def Leppard, Maroon 5), and Beau Hill (Stevie Nicks, Bob Dylan, Ratt).

When asked about some of the song topics on the new CD, Jacob Lynam offers the following explanations.

“Is This A Heartbreak, Or A Loaded Gun” is basically about people that send out mixed emotions and don’t follow through with what they say. Whatever the situation, there is nothing worse than a bold faced liar.

“If You Leave” is a very emotional song about a situation someone very close to the band went through. He lost his wife and his best friend on the same day after all three of them were shot by a lunatic with a gun. He barely survived. None of us can imagine the pain of losing the people closest to us that way. This song was written after I got the phone call from him in the hospital telling me what had just happened.”

“Porn Star” is very self explanatory. The song is just full on sex!”

“Lindsay Says” is about being with someone who is a pathological liar. Everybody has been through a situation where they’re dealing with a complete psycho, but they look the other way for whatever reason. On the other hand, sometimes you have to take a step back and realize that you might be the one who’s crazy.”

“Enemy” is a fuck you to all the people that try to hold you down. It’s about striving to be something more and not letting anyone or anything get in your way.”

“Tragic City Symphony” is Lynam’s fifth CD since forming in 2001. The band consists of Jacob Lynam (lead vocals, guitar), David Lynam (drums, vocals), and Mark Lynam (Bass, Vocals). The band has toured non stop since releasing their first album “White Trash Superstar” in 2002. In 2003, the song “The Party Starts Now” was featured in the 20th Century Fox movie “Catch That Kid”. That same year, Lynam released their second album “Bling! Bling!” and scored a regional hit with the track “Disco King”. In 2004, the band released their third album “Life In Reverse”. After the release of “Life In Reverse”, Lynam signed with heavy weight management company, Union Entertainment Group (Nickelback, Red). The band supported the album by playing shows with Saliva, Puddle Of Mudd, and The Warped Tour. In 2005, Lynam signed a deal with DRT/Universal Records and released the critically acclaimed album “Slave To The Machine” in 2006. This album peaked at #21 on Billboard's Top Independent Albums chart and #19 on the Heat- seekers chart. The first single "Tanis" went to #1 on both the active rock independent and main-stream rock independent charts. The band toured heavily behind the effort opening shows for Hinder, Godsmack, Def Leppard, Poison, Evanescence and Candlebox. With the release of “Tragic City Symphony” in 2008, Lynam shows no signs of slowing down.
