JUST IN CASE / PUNCHCARD / A NEW ENDING @ the VOID JUST IN CASE: Originating in southern NJ in spring of 2000, Just In Case has always been about producing great music. Coming from an era of so much great punk rock, they have been influenced by a lot of amazing bands. JIC has a complex blend of pop-punk, skate-punk, touch of grunge, and a strong undertone of hip-hop on the back end. They enjoy combining all of their favorite styles throughout their songs, adding their own twist to their first love, punk-rock! With over a decade of steady live shows/tours, and numerous albums, Just In Case is now taking on the West Coast (residing in Southern CA) with a brand new EP entitled “Better Late Than Never” and an onslaught of shows in the works! PUNCHCARD: Formed in San Diego in August of 2006, PunchCard has emerged on the San Diego punk scene with a fast, melodic and technical punk rock style. Their shows might be reminiscent of a drunken, amateur stand-up comedy hour, but if you can catch them actually playing a song…………ah fuck it. I hate writing these goddman things. Go to a show. Watch them and enjoy! A NEW ENDING: a Punk-Rock-Acoustic duo from San Diego, CA. Drew Smith and Derek Morris, good friends who have played music for years together and with their own projects. Old bandmates from Motionless, Derek went on to form Blue In The Face, Self-Made Martyr, and BMB, while Drew played with The BiNGE, formed Save Amos, and worked with several other bands, including BMB and supergroup Loud Noises alongside Derek. Both have reached a level critical acclaim all their own, touring extensively, winning battle-of-the-band competitions, and even playing side-stage at Warped Tour! Now the two friends are back together, this time, sharing the instrumental duties of guitar, bass, and vocals, while Drew jumps back on to his first love, drums. A New Ending is anything but; rather, it is a new beginning of powerful, emotive music.
