Johnny Be Hood was formed in Oklahoma City, March of 2011 when Joey Stone, local solo artist, was connected with Ben Brazil, bass, and Cyle Daeges, drums. All three are students at Oklahoma City's Academy Of Contemporary Music. This three-piece's sound is defined by energetic dynamic changes and reggae inspired grooves, mixing in rock, ska, and hip hop. The band hit the ground running and by July 2011 Johnny Be Hood had already played several good shows and released an EP titled "Orangutones"
