“The Ramblers greatest strength is their tight musicianship, though their songs ”Push On Through the Pain,” the catchiest of their tunes, is fun and laid back. It’s like a more fleshed out, rootsier take on Petty’s “Yer So Bad.” The effective “Now More Than Ever” is updated country swing mixed with ‘50s hillbilly rock. My favorite of theirs is the tender “All That We Lost.” The Ramblers show their diversity on this piano-led song that features beautiful, weepy pedal steel. Although grittier, it evokes post-Yankee Hotel Foxtrot era Wilco. I could absolutely imagine Jeff Tweedy singing it.”
