Song of the Mountains, shown on PBS, currently airs over 180 public television outlets across the USA featuring many national Blue Grass bands. This series does so much to support our Blue Grass music and gives so many the enjoyment of watching national bands form their own homes. Their funding comes only from donations and sponsors. Song of the Mountains now needs our help with funding 24 episodes for their next season. Many of these national bands have stepped up and discounted their fee to bring their show to Louisburg, NC in May. We are hoping that you the Blue Grass fans will purchase a ticket to help support this cause. The Festival Runs Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Gravy Boys perform at 6:00 PM on Saturday.

Since 1998, PineCone and the North Carolina Museum of History have partnered to present The Music of the Carolinas Series - a series of nine FREE concerts featuring some of the state's finest folk musicians and tradition bearers. These concerts take place in the Museum's Daniels Auditorium (300 seats) on the second Sunday of each month between October and June. This series utilizes program notes, lecture-demos, and film screenings in addition to performances to educate audiences about various cultural art traditions in NC. PineCone co-presents the series along with the North Carolina Museum of History. Please note: The Music of the Carolinas series attracted overflow crowds last season! The concerts remain free and open to the public, but the Museum will issue free tickets to this performance on a first-come, first-served basis the day of the show. Tickets will be available at the table outside the auditorium at 2 p.m. (doors open at 2:45 p.m.) and will be issued to the first 311 people to arrive. Per occupancy regulations, tickets must be presented before entering the auditorium. Thank you for your understanding and for your support of the Music of the Carolinas series!
