GOODBYE KITTY K / Press

“Goodbye Kitty K, fronted by Kat Van Ville, plays a sort of enigmatic blend of Iggy and the Stooges, Bikini Kill and the White stripes. Fueled by Kat Van Ville’s rowdy, at times even buzzsaw-raw vocals, coupled with lyrical universes of social and personal de-routes, one might at first glance expect this to be quite the alluring experience. It certainly does seem interesting when presented in such a way. True enough, there are some quite thrilling passages present on “Scrapped”. “Light”, for instance, is a rowdy track with a sort of no bullshit, straight-up and away attitude to it. It doesn’t take more than a few seconds to figure out what the intent of the track is, nor does it take long to crawl under your skin – at least for the duration of the listen. However, that is indeed part of the problem as well. You see, many of the tracks on “Scrapped” are actually quite catchy, rowdy and, well, gritty in a great way.”

“shit eh, i guess you know you like a band when you buy a T shirt and FIVE CDs, well it IS Denmark, they charge normally the equivalent of 20 bucks a CD and Tshirt but they gave me the lot for 70 bucks Seriously this is a fucking awesome band, Scrapped is the album, find it, it's cool, but live they are amazing, the front lady Kat is THE BEST!!! .......i think i'm in love........ You facebook types please befriend them on facebook and get them to australia!!”

“freakin awesome grind and throb growling alongside those stunning, screaming vocals of "dirty blues"..puts me in mind of some early Patti Smith tune..just amazing!!”

“Love the raw power thats pumping out of my speakers right now.... !!!!!Cool!!!!!”

“At 7:30 silence came as the music paused and the first band was ready to enter the stage. Goodbye Kitty K The band began to play and the singer ran on to stage when the intro was done. The singer ran across stage like a maniac and even though the venue was far from crowded at this point she and the rest of the band did their best to get everyone going. I hadn't heard the band before but would establish their music as fast rock'n'roll/punk music. The band played for about 30 minutes before it was time to say goodbye. The show they put on was pretty good but the experience turned a little sour because of the poor lighting. The change of gear went pretty fast and soon was it time for the second support act.”
