| Dosed was formulated in 1992 in the basement of Durls parents house in Waynesboring VA. Tony and Dave had left town on a cross-country trip culminating in a COLTS game in Indianapolis. Nothing to do for a couple of weeks, Durl and Mike recorded some songs. The first release was THE BEEN HER SOUNDTRACK featuring BUCKET OF CHICKEN. Other songs that stood out were IN THE DOOR, STEVE MILLER, and GIVE IT UP. The songs were supposed to be a soundtrack to the last moments of BEN-HUR... if you were incredibly high. Dosed reconvened in 2004 with a new studio, equipment, and a computer program. The first couple of songs; RIGHT NOW, and WHITE COWBOY HAT were indicative of a more rock and or roll approach to their songwriting. Durl moved back to town in 2005 and they became severely prolific, with such releases as PRAYING FOR A WASHOUT (May), AIN"T NO JOKE (Aug.), and the What It Takes EP (Nov.) They recorded over 40 songs, some of which have yet to be released. The duo recorded PITY PARTY in the summer of 2006, and includes singles, outakes, cover songs of old cash crop crap, and the CANNED PEARS reunion. |
