Q: Who would you say made the most impression upon you in music that made you lock yourself in your room with your piano at age 14? Your determination and passion is very well seasoned and a blessing .
A: First, my Uncle, Russell East. He had such a love for music, and I caught the music "bug" from him. Second, my cousin, Phil Culbertson, Sr. He gave me a Jimmy Swaggart instrumental album with a song called, "The Gloryland Way" on a Sunday night. He dared me that I couldn't duplicate it by the following Sunday. I locked myself in my room and played it over and over again, and I had it down by the following Wednesday. He was very surprised. That one event showed me that I could learn anything just by listening to it, and that further ignited my desire to sing and play. Great question!!
