Hey Campers and off road racers, come camp with us race with us Friday night, and then either spend the day Saturday at The Smoke in the Valley festival listening to the areas best bands and pickers or follow our motorized wagon train twice on Saturdays along the 10 mile trail to the Wilson's Creek gorge where you can fish, swim, sunbathe, grill out with us, or even off road ride. Brown Mountain features 34 miles of off road riding. Shirley's Home Cooking is located across from Watauga Lake on Highway 321 near Butler Tennessee and is owned and operated by Grant and Shirley Sharpe. Shirley's opened in 1990 with only three tables, serving mainly local dinners. However, word of Shirley's homemade family style meals spread fast and renovations throughout the years allows Shirley's to seat around 250 customers. Shirley's has a lot to offer, including great food, a family atmosphere and a Country Store for browsing while you wait. The Country Store, headed up by Barbara Matheson and Kaylyn , Grant and Shirleys granddaughter has a wide variety of quilts, candies, jams, jellies, wooden toys and other gifts.
