"I have been a professional musician for 50 years; have been the featured soloist with a professional symphony orchestra; with a United States Military Band; and, at the White House in Washington, DC; yet, this guy, Clifton Hicks, is the musician I like to listen to best. He is amazingly and electrifyingly expressive, Clifton makes that banjo tell an interesting, holds-you-spellbound story every time he plays. It is that wonderful artistry of Clifton's that is the purest essence of insightful, performance mastery. I am awestruck every time I listen to him; just like everybody else."
Ask Clifton Hicks anything...
Q: Are you related to Ray and Flora Hicks? I visited them back in the '90's and brought them winter squash from my garden in Vermont every fall on my way through N.C. I sure do like your banjo playing!
A: I am not related to any of the famous Western Carolina/East Tennessee Hickses, as far as I know.
