“CarbondaleRocks News While in Winnipeg, local singer / songwriter Christine Bauer spent some time in Bedside Studios, the creation station of Juno Award nominee Len Milne. There, Bauer recorded an acoustic track, "Run Johnny Run," on which Milne offered to play bass, then suggested drums. They laid down two more tracks, "Honey I Don't Mind" and "Wish I Could Feel Your Love," adding drums and electric instruments to both. “I have never played my folk music with drums, electric [guitar], and bass, but it seemed to naturally lend itself to those instruments,” Bauer tells Nightlife. Indeed, the new direction gives the songs substantial kick, and Bauer says she intends to continue exploring it. Might be that some folks will think it less intimate, but to me the electricity gives your music more strength- especially the reverb on your voice on "Honey," which gives it a really cracked, in-your-face sound.
