Todd Hepburn began playing piano at age five, and plays ragtime, boogie-woogie, honky tonk, blues, jazz standards, songs from the hit parade great American songbook, spirituals, even a few original tunes, a veritable musical gumbo. He has performed on many of the riverboats on the Ohio River, playing the piano and calliope on the Belle of Cincinnati since the ‘90s. He has performed and acted as Master of Ceremonies on the Cincy Blues Fest Boogie Woogie Hall of Fame Piano Stage many times since 1998, and last returned in 2012.
Todd has performed at Tall Stacks several times, portraying a riverboat era strolling street musician with his melodica, performing his “Tribute to Scott Joplin and Stephen Foster” on the piano. He was one of the last to perform at the Emery Auditorium before it closed back in ‘99, with a ragtime set dedicated to Scott Joplin that commemorated the 100th anniversary of the publication of the Maple Leaf Rag, returning in 2012 for a benefit concert. He plays solo piano at Arnold’s every Wednesday and Sunday brunch and dinner and Tuesday evenings at BrewRiver Gastropub. He has played songs from “The Great American Songbook” with Amy McFarland since last fall.
