The musical universe is not with out a sense of it's own justice. Forever present are those who seemingly have no business doing so, but manage to make an indelible mark on the world. Then there are those who, for whatever reason, never quite surpass the status of being an "also-ran". Rather, these unknowns are often forced into permanent refuge in the annals of "What Could Have Been". However, universe be damned, things change... some things just won't die...such is the case with QRT.
QRT was a seminal Florida based project founded by Singer/Songwriter/Guitarist Kyle Kruger in collaboration with the multifarious talents of original members, Guitarist Dave Berry, Bassist/vocalist Dennis Eyler and Drummer/Percussionist Mike Lang. With influences ranging from The Beatles, Cheap Trick & Live to Saigon Kick,Lenny Kravitz,Goo Goo Dolls, Jellyfish & Maggie's Dream -. QRT was an organic blend of rock, pop and quasi-psychedelia, featuring majestic harmonies & substantial lyrics; a sound that seems all but forgotten in today's musical landscape.
Originally formed in 1993 as a recording project in Tampa,FL , QRT quickly grew into a successful, full time, performing entity. Inside of 2 years QRT quickly became a top drawing act on the Florida original music scene, garnering steady radio airplay and countless awards and accolades. Among these, Kruger's nod as Songwriter of the Year at the 1994-95 Bay Area Music Awards, Berry's subsequent nomination as Best Guitarist and a collective nomination as Best Original Band in Florida (whose alumni includes, Saigon Kick,Marilyn Manson, Matchbox 20, Creed and Limp Bizkit, among countless others.) In 1996 QRT took what seemed to be a permanent vacation. However, Kruger never truly put the project to bed. Fast forward to 2014 as the "2nd coming" of the band formally known as Quixotic Reality Trip, will finally reach imminence.
