Chris Conte is one of the best all around guitarist/singer songwriters, to perform in the NY/Tristate area in the past 25 yrs. Chris has been part of several successful groups that were signed to both major, and indie labels (Velveteen-Atlantic Records, Unloved-J-Bird Records, Chapter XI-Whirled Records). Chris has performed for sold out venues at many major clubs in NY (Webster Hall, CBGB'S, China Club) His music video "It's a Possibility" aired on MTV Basement tapes. Chris has played along side several artists both in bands together, and in the studio. All had successful recording/touring careers. Chris embarked on a solo career over the past five years, featuring intimate vocal & instrumental cuts geared toward film/tv. Recently, UNLOVED (Chris Conte-Don Paul Jones-Rick Budo) have resurfaced with an all new music format. Same great songs but with an amazing new sound. CC reinventing his guitar sound via acoustic, DJ on bass, and Budo on the lap style Cajon drum. A sound like no other in the industry.
Don Paul Jones, premiere bassist in NYC, has performed in numerous bands in the past 20 yrs and has recorded several CD's (New School, Unloved, Noise Culture) DJ has toured successfully, and was a standout at the NYC CMJ music festivals for years.
Rick Budo is one of hip hops original innovators, and a powerhouse drummer. His inventive "classical flavor"loops set the standard for current hip hop music. His unique drum style has an infectious groove.
Chris has been known for his distinctive guitar sound. Instantly recognizable as soon as it's heard. It's said, his sound "puts you in a trance". His vocals are pure and seductive.
Chris performs and writes all the music/instruments/production for his solo work.
Chris' solo work entitled, "Call In Sick" was showcased in the film 'Resilience' (Lost Battalion Films).
