I am a guitarist and bassist, performing in the Charlotte area and Southeast since 1991. My principle instrument in band settings has been bass, performing with Tone Deaf James and the Bedrockers from 1991 until 1997. We won the Low Country Blues Society Talent Contest, and four Creative Loafing Best of Charlotte Awards for Blues/R&B. The next band I played in was Delancey Street two cuts appear on this page to represent my work with them we performed throughout the southeast. In 2007 I joined Michael Wolf and The Voodoo Brothers, winners of the 2011 Charlotte Music Awards for blues/R&B. I joined Nita B and the Swinging Soiree' in 2010, playing blues R&B and jazz with that group.
I have studied and played guitar since my teens. My first working project was an offshoot of The Bedrockers called Cornerstone, a free jazz outfit which was also subject to my soprano saxophone shrieks. One of the interludes of the onslaught of the full band was Beth Pollhammer and I doing some torch songs. "God Bless the Child" is represented here from a cassette made in 1995. I continue this format with Nita B and we presently play around town frequently. I perform chord melody pieces during the sets. "What are You Doing the Rest of Your Life" again from a 1995 demo session is represented here.
