HI, I'm just a dog with a guitar. Breed? North American Blues Hound. Obviously. Yes, I do hail from Dog Town California and am a clamper(E Clampus Vitus/ECV) member of the Bodie Chapter which explains any absurdity in my statements with the ECV motto being "Credo Quia Absurdum" which is in Dog Latin according to wikipedia. Please Feel free to listen to some rough(low quality) recordings of my original songs. These are some rough recordings of me playing my acoustic guitar standing up in front of my laptop as if I was on stage so it will sound as close as possible to my performance. The recording; "Outside Dog Blues" is the original recording I made as I wrote it back in '08. Yea, I need to get recorded properly and will soon. I play a Morris acoustic with a glass or bottleneck slide on one finger.
My original music is mostly inspired by Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, T Bone Walker, Scott Joplin, Woody Guthrie, Bob Marley, Tracy Chapman, The Allman Brothers, Billy Holiday, James Taylor, Jim Croce and Cat Stevens.
Before I started writing my own stuff I played nothing but Classic Rock, Blues, Country, covers(I used to play A Gibson SG Special electric, a Rickenbacker electric, a Scholastic Blessing trumpet, a Suzuki BluesMaster harmonica, and an Artley Flute with a G foot) but since I am now a solo acoustic act I stick to writing solo songs on my guitar. When I was a pup or teenager I played trumpet for a living and had plenty of gigs but I switched to the flute since and have found the guitar a better suited instrument for songwriting.
Oh yea and my favorite sport is frisbee. I would like to try Kite Surfing though. :)
Although I'm a blues hound I also write a variety of types songs from folk to comedy but I took down most of my songs other than a few Blues and Country Blues songs. I have an eclectic mix of 103 various songs written and am working on several more but still preparing to record them properly. Thanks for visiting my page. Love, Willie :) PS. I love you all and there's nothing you can do about it!
