Frodie was born and raised in Missoula, MT. He was surrounded by music since the day he was born. He started playing clarinet in elementary school, but soon switched to percussion and got his first drumset. He was also a member of the All-City Children’s Choir.
After many years of jamming on drums and keyboards, Frodie started Wapikiya Records in 2005. He set up a small studio in his bedroom and started recording. His first productions included “Pookie and Frodie’s Bangin’ on Instrumentals”, OT and Young Jay’s “Just Released”, and “Wapikiya Classics, Vol. 1”. Frodie has also produced/engineered numerous mixtapes: “All I’m Gonna Be”, “The Sky is the Limit”, “All in the Family”, Koshir’s “Garbage”, Pallas Athena’s The 1966 Collection EP Vol. 1”, “I’m Alive”, “Grimy Ways”, “Feelin’ Fine in Wapikiya”, “So Hi, So Low”, “Sweet Home, Montana”, “From the Start”, “We Mean Business”, ”Stunt So Hard”, “Wapikiya Archives”, “Prime 1 – Love VS Hate Vol. 1”, “Pt. 1 My Chance Pt.2 Hours of a Hustla” , and “Frodie and Friends”.
Frodie worked on the soundtrack to the film “From Place to Place”, and he has also released “Missoula Baseball – the Album”, a tribute to Missoula’s Osprey team. He has also made appearances on Overtime’s “Digital Crack – Vol. 1, Vol. 2, Vol.3”, Overtime’s “In and Out of the Game”, Dice’s “Step 1 – Straight from the Underground”, Dice’s “Versityle”, Amor’s “New Direction”, Koshir’s “Muffin Man”, and Cool Nutz’s “A Sample of the Great Northwest”. He has also engineered a song featuring Rappin 4 Tay. He is currently producing/engineering “Prime 1 – Love VS Hate, Vol. 2”, and new mixtape collaborations with Mac Moore and Amor.
Frodie’s first official album, “Ridin’ Old School – 85 in the 85”, will be released for distribution on itunes on January 15th, 2013. His second album, “Petals of a Rose”, will be released sometime in February, 2013. His third album, currently in production, will feature guest artists such as Freeway, Illmaculate, and Cordell from Holy Fam.
Frodie developed his sound engineering skills by doing running the soundboard for several MCT productions. He is skilled with the following programs: Pro Tools, Cube Base, Acid Pro, Adobe Audition, Cake Walk, Magix, Sound Forge, Garage Band, Ableton, Reason, and Fruity Loops. He also films and edits music videos, and works with programs such as Vegas Pro, Final Cut Express, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Premiere. He also is developing his graphic design talents in Adobe Photoshop.
Frodie enjoys performing live and has shared a stage with artists including: Too Short, Mike Jones, E-40, Afroman, Twista, Andre Nickatina, Curren$y, Mistah Fab, Blue Scholars, Cool Nutz, Illmaculate, V Nasty, The Convict Clique, and various artists from the Nine Side Clique.
Frodie shares his daily experiences and innermost thoughts with his fans through his music, as well as his struggles with overcoming drug addiction and alcoholism from an early age. He loves making music and he will continue to express himself in order to motivate and inspire his fans to never give up hope and follow their dreams.
