Based in sunny, warm, Daytona Beach, Florida, The Park-O-Lators are a roots rock Americana band performing original songs written by Clayton Park and Susan Brehme Park. Our first show was as a duo at the Bandshell in Daytona Beach on Sept. 4, 2009. Our lineup is completed with a rhythm guitarist and bassist.
• Clayton Park on fiddle, guitar, and vocals.
• Susan Park on drums, percussion, and vocals.
• Backing rhythm guitarist Drew Meyer and bassist
The 8 recordings on our CD were produced, recorded, and mastered in Mount Airy, NC by the amazing Britt Harper Uzzell (Snüzz). Susan Brehme Park and Clayton Park provide all instrumentation and vocals, except bass, which is provided by Jerry Chapman.
Seattle-native Clayton Park has played in a number of bands over the years, including Someone Somewhere and Somebody's Daughter who opened for both Tori Amos and the Crash Test Dummies. His primary instruments are acoustic and electric violin and guitar.
Susan Brehme Park hails from Winston-Salem, NC where she first began singing in church as a child. She primarily plays the drums. She also makes her own handmade percussion from recycled items found around the house, which she uses in more intimate, small-venue performances. She works freelance as a graphic designer and assistant, primarily for festivals and bands.
Both were briefly in an original bluegrass band called the Back Porch Players before "day jobs" forced their move to Florida in 2007. In 2009 they decided to start their own rock band.
Songwriters Susan B Park and Clayton Park are members of ASCAP: # 3258180 and # 3258176
