THE VEGABONDS / Bio
The Vegabonds are an energetic, and loud, six-piece Southern Rock N' Roll band originally formed in Auburn, AL in 2009. The special blend of 6 different musical styles and interests, is what makes the band unique. Their constant strive to evolve with every new record, is what keeps their listeners satisfied.
The Vegabonds released their debut record Dear Revolution in June of 2010. Two songs from the album hit the IAIRA Independent charts. The song Shaky Hands hit #1, and The Wanderer climbed to #88. The release also earned them a spot on the indiecharts.com top 25 unsigned bands. "We were pumped that our first album was received so well, not only in the USA, but around the world. It was a great starting point , and really just put us in a mind-frame to write more songs, and find our sound." says lead singer Daniel Allen.
The follow up album to Dear Revolution was Southern Sons, released on Jan.10, 2012. The release earned the boys flight tickets two weeks later, as they embarked on their first tour of Europe. Teaming up with booking company Teenage Head Music, The Vegabonds jammed in 8 countries over 6 weeks.
The success of the first two albums paved the way for the band to do over 150 shows a year, and play with such acts as Gregg Allman, Charlie Daniels, Blues Traveler, and more. The Vegabonds just finished recording their third studio record. The album was recorded at the legendary RCA Studio B in Nashville, TN, and will be released later this Fall.
