Southern Standard Time is the inaugural CD recording by Rusty and Friends, a jazz quartet who are members of the Columbus Jazz Society and have played with one another during the jams that the jazz society sponsors every month. During the spring of 2009, Rusty aproached Tom Chadwick with an idea to record some vocals. Soon thereafter Mark Parker and Jeff Smith were asked to join. For about six months, they practiced the songs that they wanted to record, and on Saturday, December 21, 2009, they went into the Loft Studio in Coumbus, finishing up in the early spring of 2010. In the interim, they played a few gigs and really enjoyed the synergy created. Now, they just want to play.
