Arlee Leonard is a Vocalist, Songwriter, Poet, Recording Artist, and World-traveling Entertainer. This talented performer grew up singing and touring with her musician parents “David & Roselyn.” Her soulful skills as bandleader and vocalist have shown throughout Asia, across Europe, in her “hometowns” of New Orleans and New York, in nightclubs, festivals, concerts, churches, schools, on TV, radio, and the web!
Arlee’s debut CD “WILD HONEY,” a collection of originals and classic jazz, is widely praised by critics and audiences alike. One of her most recent projects is “Zou, Shake That Thing!” with Moussu T e Lei Jovents of Marseille, France, which celebrates the convergence of 1920's American Jazz & Blues with French operettas of the same period. This hour+ long music/theater piece was inspired and informed by the writer Claude McKay's book "Banjo," written in Marseille in 1927. Arlee has headlined at festivals and concert halls around the world, most recently in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, South Africa and France. She will appear in Yekaterinburg, Russia with a local big band in April 2011, followed by a return to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival with her parents' group "Mo'Lasses." She is currently working on music for her next CD. Don't miss this exciting entertainer. When Arlee shines, you will smile!
