Singer Joselyn Best was born on January 3, 1980, in New Haven Connecticut. She is the second of three children born to an evangelist mother Shirley Best and veteran father Leo Best. After her mother’s unexpected death, Joselyn was raised by her grandmother who taught no matter the situation you go through, learn from it and allow the situation to make you stronger - good or bad. A deeply loved and gifted child, she learned of her gift to sing at the age of 9 while performing solo ‘Somebody Suffered’ by impressing the audience with her natural singing ability. Always the center of attention, her voice has been known to cultivate the young and old as an inspiration to their lives.
As a teenager, music became a main component in her life. She entered a number of local talent shows, and also collaborated with her sisters during family gatherings to promote her gift of singing. As she mirror and studied other artist during her youth Joselyn mastered her ability to sing and play the piano, which led to an opening performance for Shirley Caesar during a local concert in Washington, DC.
Since then, Joselyn has worked with several musical influences to contribute towards her successful singing career such as Steve Lawrence, Myrna Summers and Kevin Lavar. She currently sings lead vocals for two local bands in Hampton, Virginia called The Elements and Ramonta Allen and Chuuch Folks. In 2012 Joselyn composed her first single entitled ‘All about Me’. Her new single has impacted many fans and supporters throughout her town, receiving accolades on her writing skills – known to translate well on healing, soul searching and life accomplishments – throughout all ages.
Joselyn currently lives in Hampton, Virginia with her two sons Dennis and Jamari.
