“… have no shortage of passion. You can hear it on the funked-out danceable bliss of ‘Burn the House Down’ … It'll get you shimmying and shaking like nothing else out there. Get ready for one of a hell dance party with Cary Nokey.” – Artist Direct
“…raw expressive lyrics that were beautifully tangled among piano-synths, crash cymbals and electric guitars … Picture a mountain of energy pulsating and stalling, right before it crashes atop of the crowd. Thankfully, they live up to their title and do bring the house down.” – Indie Shuffle
“…the band’s synth-laden-funk tunes are perfect coping mechanisms for those impending summer heatwaves…” – Brightest Young Things
“Sounding destined for Top 40 radio play, you’ll probably want to jump on this single now that recalls such artists as David Bowie and Devo.” – Earbuddy.net
Cary Nokey, the brainchild of the band’s staple 8 Bit, is unlike any other collaboration out today – think futuristic 80s, think David Bowie on acid, with catchy, carefree choruses, funky bass lines, and a bad ass mashup of electro-club flavor.
8 Bit, who has worked with legends including Timbaland, Rob Fusari, and Babyface, and his phenomenal crew of performers are bringing back the magic and excitement that has been missing from live shows today. They want their fans to become a part of the experience – taking things back to a simpler time when music was about music.
Creating a ground swell in New York City, they recently performed to a sold out crowd at the Highline Ballroom and will be touring on the west coast with Skyler Grey as well as performing at Lollapooloza 2013.
When the 80's and the future collide.
