After the disbanding of Ct ska standouts, Distance No Object; Shane (guitar), placed several ads looking for players for a new band. The idea was to do a more traditionally focused ska type band without the fanfare of horn or keyboard players. Also new, was the effort to move from just playing guitar, to singing in the band as well.
Right before the blizzard of 2011 there was finally a response worth acting on, and a first practice was set up.
Pete (bass), and Tom (drums), had played for years in The Distributors, a loud, drunk, punk band, popular in the bar scene in Ct. They were looking to start something new, and the prospect of a singer/songwriter looking for a new band seemed promising.
After only a few short practices, The Excitement Gang was born. Mixing all the influences of each member (some more strongly than others), with a passion for quality of song, and the desire to standout from the crowd; The Excitement Gang is unlike any ska band you have ever heard.
