This Hostile Existence formed in 2007 as a means to jam, and write original material. Originally the band consisted of Mike Vitiello on rhythm guitar, and Jayme Cantin on lead guitar with a drum machine. Soon after this initial incarnation the 2 were joined by bassist/cow killer Dennis Steccholz. The next step was to replace the drum machine with a human drummer. Dennis got a hold of former Flu drummer Matt Frost who came down to jam with the band, and clicked instantly. After a long look for a vocalist the 4 musicians were joined by then Flu drummer Matt Peterson on the mic. T.H.E. then began putting a proper set of original material together in order to begin playing shows. The band had a series of live shows @The B+G Lounge, Hall Of Fame Billiards, 125 Riverside Drive, etc over the course of the next 3+ years.
In January of 2011 This Hostile Existence played it's last show with Peterson on vocals. Peterson was moving out of state so the band started looking for the right vocalist to fill the void. Enter former SixSidedDie vocalist/bassist/guitarist Dino Federici who joined T.H.E. in the summer of 2012. Dino's vocal attack was the perfect fit for the music This Hostile Existence was creating. The group, now complete began playing shows again in January of 2013, and are recording some more songs as well.
This Hostile Existence is an intense, aggressive metal band whose influences are very wide ranging, depending on which member you speak to you may hear anything from Pantera to ZZ Top to the Foo Fighters, Black Sabbath, Nirvana, and Thrice. Mudvayne, Lamb of God, Down, and Vision of Disorder are also huge influences on this group of song writers/musicians. Be sure to check our Facebook page as well as Reverbnation for show listings, and updates. We will post more tracks as we record them and make them available for all to hear once they are complete. Horns up, and raise hell\m/\m/ T.H.E.
