Born and raised in California in the mountains of Whiskeytown, Winne Crossley ( McDermott) started playing music at a very early age inspired by her father Paul McDermott. Being exposed to many different instrument, Winne learned the basics of each one and fell in love with music and became a unique musician and song writer. Winne, is a self taught musician with most instruments which include guitar, bass guitar, piano, accordion, harp, banjo, fiddle, mandolin. Played tenor sax and bass clarinet in band and jazz band in Shasta High School. Studied music at Shasta College where she played tenor sax, alto sax, viola, cello, flute and clarinet.
Winne then took a long break from music, to raise a family of 3 boys.
Now, Winne is back, working with the freedom of time and respect for life.
She is now currently in an all girl band, The Flangz, playing bass guitar. She has also played fiddle for Brandon Antakk and the Hellhounds and has just started recording her own songs and music.
Winne has this saying and it goes like this; "Music to me is like cigarettes to smokers, I have to have my guitar fix or I get withdrawals!!!"
